Dear Topeka Families, Staff and Community,
Welcome back! We missed all of our students very much. In fact, we missed them so much, my assistant superintendent and I took a small group of students to the movies to see the Grinch and we had a ball!
This week we celebrated our outstanding police officers for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and congratulated one of the state's Horizon Award winners from Scott Dual Language Magnet. The Commissioner of Education, Dr. Randy Watson, and our staff surprised our awesome preschool teacher, Hannah Taylor. Click here to watch a video of Ms. Taylor's surprise. We are so fortunate to have such incredible staff.
Over the break, the Topeka West band won numerous awards at the Outback Bowl and parade in Tampa, Florida. They are incredibly talented and we are so proud of them.
On a final note, we are deeply saddened by the passing of second-grade student, Stephen Wilson Jr. An article has been included in the newsletter with more information. Please keep his family and the State Street community in your thoughts.
Dr. Tiffany Anderson
Superintendent
