January Concludes with Many Things to Celebrate!

Dear Topeka Public Schools Family,

As we conclude January, we extend a thank you to Governor Kelly for including Topeka High's JROTC, drumline, and our staff in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March and Program. Dr. Beryl New spoke at the  program, while the Topeka High JROTC and drumline led us in the march at the Capitol. We are so proud to have our students take part in such an important moment in history.

This month we celebrate our school board members as it is School Board Recognition Month. Please take time to thank our school board members for their service and dedication.

The weather has created some challenges this school year. While we work to keep school open as much as possible, when it is too dangerous to travel, we close. We appreciate the cooperation and support from everyone in our community when we do close.

Chiefs Day is taking place on Friday in Topeka Public Schools. The Chiefs are an inspiring example of how success can be achieved through teamwork and a winning attitude. Go Chiefs! Go TPS!

Thank you for a great first month of the new year!

Dr. Tiffany Anderson

Superintendent
