COVID-19 Update March 18, 2020

Dear Topeka Public Schools Family,

Due to the Governor's order that closes school facilities, school facilities are closed through the end of the academic year. An alternative learning environment will be provided this year and after we receive the continuous learning information from the state department, we will be providing updates to our parents. Information will be shared in an ongoing manner on our COVID-19 site under parent resources. The instructional COVID-19 resources will also be posted on the main web page under quick links. Our COVID-19 Crisis Response Team was enacted Monday as a contingency plan and it has provided the following:

- An emergency phone bank is running to answer calls

- A social service team was deployed

- A 785 - GET - HELP line is open

- A Spanish Face Time video weekly has been established and will be posted weekly starting next week

- Breakfast and lunch is being provided with help from the clergy thanks to the state waiver opportunity

- An instructional planning team has been coordinated to plan ways for instructional opportunities.

For more information, follow the link to my video message, and view our web page on COVID-19. We will continue to update the website, the TV station and social media with information as it becomes available. We are dedicated to serving our students and families during this COVID-19 crisis. Your cooperation is truly appreciated as we work to keep our students and families informed and safe at this time. - Dr. Tiffany Anderson Superintendent
