Dear Topeka Public Schools Family,
As we conclude January, we extend a thank you to Governor Kelly for including our JROTC students and our staff in the various ceremonies. McClure principal, Dr. Jennifer Gordon, sang at the Governor’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March and the Topeka West JROTC led us in the march at the Capitol. Additionally, the Topeka High students performed at the Governor’s inauguration. We are so proud to have our students take part in such an important moment in history.
This month schools celebrated the 100th day of school. We also celebrated Kansas Day and reflected on the many things that make Kansas great.
The weather has created some challenges this school year. While we work to keep school open as much as possible, when it is too dangerous to travel, we close. We appreciate the incredible cooperation and support from everyone in our community when we do close. Especially, our city street cleaning crews.
Thank you for a great first month of the new year!
Dr. Tiffany Anderson
Superintendent
